Common questions

Absolutely — and many homeowners do. But there’s a difference between reading about pool construction and having a trained consultant review your specific bids, contracts, and construction progress. We bring the same vendor evaluation and contract analysis skills used in Big 4 consulting to your pool project. The 72% budget overrun statistic exists because most homeowners don’t know what they don’t know.

No — and that’s the point. We’re independent consultants who work exclusively for you, not for builders, manufacturers, or contractors. We don’t build pools, sell equipment, or earn commissions. Our only interest is protecting yours.

That’s actually the best time to engage us. Phase 1 (Discovery & Planning) is designed specifically for homeowners who haven’t committed yet. We help you establish a realistic budget, evaluate pool types for your situation, and prepare before you ever talk to a builder.

We work alongside your builder on your behalf, but we never work for your builder. We don’t have partnerships, affiliations, or financial relationships with any builder. If we identify concerns during construction, we advise you on how to address them — we don’t go behind your back.

Our advisory services are fully remote — video calls, document review, and async messaging work from anywhere. While our deepest market knowledge is in Florida, California, Texas, and Arizona (where 60%+ of pools are built), the fundamentals of contract review, bid analysis, and construction oversight apply nationwide.

Yes. Many clients start with Navigator to get structured guidance, then upgrade to Advocate when they reach the builder selection phase and want written bid analysis and contract review. Contact us and we’ll credit what you’ve already paid toward the higher tier.
